Sambo wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan win medals at World Cup in Dushanbe

The Sambo World Cup was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where athletes from Kyrgyzstan took podium places. The International Sambo Federation reported.

According to the federation, Elkhan Orozaliev, competing in the 79-kilogram weight category, reached the final and won a silver medal. Sherzat Kudaiberdiev won bronze in the 71-kilogram weight category.

The competitions were held at the sports complex of the Tajik National University. Medals were awarded in 28 weight categories in sport and combat sambo among men and women.

The tournament served as a preparatory stage for the World Sambo Championships, which will be held in Bishkek this November.
