17 people fined in Bishkek for smoking in prohibited areas

At least 17 people were fined in Bishkek during a raid by officers of the Internal Affairs Department of Pervomaisky district for smoking in prohibited places, including cafés and other leisure venues. The department’s press service reported.

Administrative protocols were drawn up against the violators. They were held liable under Article 83 of the Code of Offenses of Kyrgyzstan («Smoking in Unauthorized Places») and fined 3,000 soms each.

As part of the preventive measures, police officers reminded visitors and business owners that under Kyrgyz law, smoking tobacco, electronic cigarettes, and hookahs in certain public places is strictly prohibited.
